The Design
“For kitchen, bathtime, or baby!”
These easy, garter-stitch squares are based on the washcloth pattern our grannies used to make. We’ve added a pretty picot edge to dress it up, but you can leave it unadorned if you like. This washcloth makes a nice shower or housewarming gift tied up with a bar of soap. (For a baby blanket, grown-up throw, or afghan—just keep knitting!)
A cotton-and-linen blend is just right for the Picot-Edge Washcloth—these fibers soften with every wash and use! We chose the versatile Rowan , a light worsted-weight yarn. With a slightly rustic texture and a nice heft, Creative Linen’s knit fabric drapes softly and has great structure and stitch definition.
